Missing heat shields or improperly set fuel mixture can cause the inner axle boots to overheat and eventually split, resulting in loss of lubricant and/or contamination of the inner CV joint, leading to failure of the joint. FAILURES OF THIS NATURE ARE NOT COVERED BY THE AXLE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY!!!!
